Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OwnBlock ("Website", "Mining Portal", "we" or "us"), a service owned by TECLATINA S.R.L., collects, uses, and protects information generated by the use of our services ("Miner", "you"). By using our services, you confirm that you are aware of this Privacy Policy.

This policy applies to all OwnBlock services: the main website, mining pools for XMR, BTC, and BCH, the authentication system, the support service, and API endpoints, collectively referred to as "OwnBlock".

Information we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate each service. Details are provided by category below.

Mining pools

  • Wallet addresses (XMR, BTC, BCH): stored to display your mining statistics. Automatically removed 24 hours after you stop mining. Mining statistics are publicly visible, as the service is openly accessible.
  • IP addresses: collected during active connections for operational monitoring only. Automatically deleted after 24 hours.

User account

If you create an OwnBlock account, we collect the following:

  • Alias: a pseudonymous username chosen by you. It is not linked to any real-world identity. Stored while your account remains active.
  • Email address (optional): only if you choose to link one, for magic link access or notifications. Not required, and never shared with third parties.
  • Authentication credentials: depending on the method you choose, we store your GPG public key (armoured format and fingerprint), passkey credentials (a cryptographic public key, browser-bound), or your email address for magic link delivery.
  • Session cryptographic key: a key pair generated in your browser, used to authenticate session requests via a proof-of-possession mechanism (DPoP). Not used for personal identification.
  • Recovery codes: stored in irreversibly hashed form. Used only to recover account access if you lose your primary authentication method.
  • Activity timestamps: account creation date and last activity date.

Support

If you submit a support ticket, we collect the subject, message content, and any attachments you include. This data is handled by a separate internal support system. Your alias is visible to the support team within the context of your tickets. Keep in mind that your alias is pseudonymous and not linked to any real-world identity. Closed tickets and their attachments are automatically deleted 7 days after closure.

Contact form

If you use the public contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.

We do not use cookies of any kind. No tracking, no analytics cookies, no persistent storage on your device.

How we use your data

  • Pool data: to operate the mining pools and display statistics. Statistics are publicly accessible. Your wallet addresses are public and anonymous on their respective blockchains — they do not personally identify you.
  • Account data: to authenticate you securely and provide access to platform services. Not used for commercial, advertising, or tracking purposes.
  • Support data: to manage and respond to your support requests.
  • Contact form: solely to respond to your enquiry.

Data retention & deletion

  • Mining data: wallet addresses and IP addresses are automatically deleted 24 hours after you stop mining.
  • User account: you can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. The following are permanently removed: your alias, authentication credentials (passkeys, GPG keys), active sessions, tokens, and recovery codes.
  • Support tickets: closed tickets and their attachments are automatically deleted 7 days after closure.
  • Linked email: removed when you delete your account, or if you unlink it from Settings.

Infrastructure & data location

OwnBlock services run on servers located in Switzerland, Germany, and Costa Rica. By using OwnBlock, you acknowledge that your information may be processed on servers in these jurisdictions.

Security

We implement reasonable security practices to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your information, including encrypted communications (TLS), authentication based on public-key cryptography, and short-lived access tokens.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted, as indicated by the updated date below.
