Organise a Bitcoin Mining Party

A Mining Party brings together the hashrate of several Bitcoin miners for a set period and points it at the same goal. If your community of Bitcoin ASICs wants to give it a try, here is what you need to know.

Not every participant needs their own hardware: rented hashrate is welcome too, and we offer infrastructure fully optimised for NiceHash, Braiins and MiningRigRentals.

Do you need permission?

You do not need permission from OwnBlock to organise a Mining Party using our public pools. If a group of miners coordinates their equipment and points their combined hashrate at the pool, from our side it remains conventional mining traffic.

If you contact us beforehand and tell us what you are planning, we can review your request and prepare a private instance specifically for your Mining Party, with a 0% fee.

0% fee for approved Mining Parties

Bitcoin Mining Parties we approve with private infrastructure operate with a 0% OwnBlock fee. If you use our public BTC pool directly instead, the standard 2% fee applies.

How much hashrate do you need?

No amount of hashrate guarantees finding a Bitcoin block: mining is probabilistic. Use the OwnBlock calculator to estimate the probability of finding a block with the combined hashrate and duration you are planning.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the public BTC pool without notice?
Yes. You do not need permission to coordinate hashrate and mine on our public Bitcoin pool; the standard 2% fee applies.
Can I use rented hashrate instead of my own ASIC?
Yes. We offer infrastructure fully optimised for NiceHash, Braiins and MiningRigRentals, so you can add rented hashrate to the Mining Party without owning hardware.
What do I get by requesting private infrastructure?
An instance dedicated exclusively to your Mining Party, without sharing resources with the public pool, and a 0% OwnBlock fee for the agreed period.
How far in advance should I contact OwnBlock?
The sooner the better, so we can review the request and prepare the infrastructure ahead of the date you have in mind.
